Federal Court lodges police report over leaked judgement paper

PETALING JAYA: The Federal Court has lodged a police report over an alleged leaked judgement paper on the verdict of Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor's corruption case.

The chief registrar’s office of the Federal Court in a statement said the alleged leak was a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of the court’s operations and administration of justice.

It stressed that the judiciary would not be disturbed by illegal and irresponsible actions that affect the integrity of the country's judicial system.

"This act is a deliberate act to affect the integrity of the operation of the Court and the administration of justice. Thus, a police report has been lodged in relation to the reports on the website in question," it said.

The statement was referring to a document said to be a copy of a judgement delivering a guilty verdict against Rosmah.

The document which was published on Friday (Aug 26) titled "Rosmah Mansor Will Be Pronounced Guilty On 1st September 2022" has been making its rounds on social media.

Rosmah was charged with three counts of corruption linked to the RM1.25bil Sarawak rural schools’ solar energy project.

She is accused of soliciting RM187.5mil through her former aide Rizal Mansor, as an inducement to help a company secure the solar project, and of receiving bribes amounting to RM5mil on Dec 20, 2016.

High Court judge Zaini Mazlan is scheduled to deliver his decision on Rosmah’s corruption trial at 9am on Sept 1.
